/ˈɒkt-miː/
Octmi is a way of working across disciplines without lowering the standard.
Octmi describes a person who performs and perfects multiple complex tasks simultaneously. It also describes the state of achieving precision across diverse domains without sacrificing quality in any one of them.
Definition adapted from octmi.in.
I wanted to build an app. I ended up building the capability to build anything.
While I was graduating, I had an idea for an app. I had the ambition, but I did not yet have the knowledge to turn it into reality, so I hired someone to build it for me.
Over time, that person gained my trust. Then he cheated me, took my money, and disappeared. It hit me hard. The loss was financial, but the deeper loss was confidence: I had placed the thing I wanted to create in someone else's hands and had no technical understanding to protect it.
That experience became fuel. I already had a foundation in branding and business growth, so I started learning web development from the ground level. I learned how products are planned, designed, engineered, launched, measured, and improved. I worked through the parts I once thought were beyond me and gained experience by staying close to the work.
Octmi grew from that process. It exists for founders and teams who have an idea, a business, or a direction, but need a partner who can understand the whole system. I believe many people will relate to that starting point: wanting to make something real before having every skill required to make it.
